Parent Chaperones

When chaperoning, both parents are encouraged to participate. Through chaperoning, you will have an opportunity to see your child in action! We realize that a conflict may arise with your assigned date; if so, please email us as soon as possible to let us know so we can plan accordingly. Chaperones will receive a reminder email prior to the assigned class.

During Regular Classes:  The responsibilities of a chaperone include serving refreshments, participating in a receiving line at the end of class, and assisting with class assignments and contests.  If you have an Aunt, Uncle, Grandparent, or other family member who would like to chaperone with you during one of the classes, that is perfectly fine – we would love to have them join us.

End of the year Formal Dinner and Ball Event Chaperones:  With the end-of-the-year events requiring much more ‘work’ from parents, we want to share with you some of the responsibilities that come with chaperoning these big events.  In general, parents who chaperone will:

  • Be seated at a table with students.  You may have a very ‘easy’ table or you may have a very ‘challenging’ table.  You never know what the chemistry of the students will bring.  Polite dinner conversation may flow freely or you may have to do everything possible to get the students to talk amongst themselves.
  • Keep an eye on the salt & pepper and the sugar packets.  Sometimes students tend to think sugar packets make a good appetizer to the dessert course.
  • Keep an eye on the restrooms.  Sometimes the students like to congregate in the restrooms and need redirecting to their tables or to the dance floor.
  • Assist with pairing up the students during the dance portion of the evening.

Parent Dinner:

During our end of the season events, parents who are NOT official chaperones are invited to participate in the Parent Dinner for $75.00 per person.

On the three nights we have events at Gaillardia Country Club, management has graciously offered to allow parents the opportunity to enjoy dinner in the dining room (away from the Ballroom where the students will be seated).  Limited seating is available, so please make your reservations early!  Reservations are required.

The Parent Dinner will be served at 7:00 pm. This will allow ample time for photographs and observation of the beginning of the Ball festivities. Dinner will conclude in time for viewing of the dancing portion of the Ball.

Parent Dinner Menu:  (Menu is subject to change, but will be similar in quality) Iceberg wedge salad, duet of filet of beef and grilled breast of chicken with brandy mushroom crème, creamy parmesan risotto, green beans with toasted almonds, espresso Crème Brûlée. Ice tea and coffee. $75.00 per person.

Tables will be available in groups of 2 or more. If you would like to sit with someone specific, reservations may be made in groups. (Small groups may need to be combined with another table to accommodate everyone.)

Dress Code: Country Club attire (Gentleman: jacket required, no denim allowed.)

Again, due to this unique offering Reservations are required.
